Describe your participation in the Marsh Madness program sponsored by California Waterfowl Association.  Include what you did, what you learned, and how you feel about working with elementary school students. Explain how our community benefited from this program and if you recommend it for students next year.

Use complete sentences, paragraphs making thorough explanations.

Complete a full-page summary of the activities from one day at Strawberry Creek.  Include a detailed description of any of the interesting wildlife you observed during that day. 

Also, give a step-by step description of the day’s activities that you participated in.  What was your role in the work that was done?  How did you assist other students in the group with their work?  What did you learn from the day’s activities?  Explain how the work you did is important to the conservation of Strawberry Creek.

 In your closing paragraph, explain how this day’s activities could be improved for next year.  Give constructive criticism. Include the activities in the day that you enjoyed the most.

1. Using www.zillow.com, pick 5 homes adjacent to (next to) the Vintage Park Trapezoidal Canal, and the Strawberry Creek Watershed.

Students studied addiction after listening to Dr. De Noble and reading the articles in class.  Their assignment was to complete a report about addiction. They could choose to write about how addiction affects our society, families, how specific drugs affect those who use them, or how addiction is treated. Students had to use three sources to support their information –online resources, magazines or interviews for their project.  Here are quotes of their work.

What did you learn by participating in this project?  What new technology did you use in producing this video (i.e. cameras, software, hardware, etc.) Explain how your efforts on this project benefit the community.  Lastly, how can this project improve? 

After attending the Positive Youth Development Ski, Snowboarding & Tubing Trip, please answer the following questions in EXPLANATION format.

• Based on your knowledge of the hazards of smoking, why would a user have difficulty doing physical activities in high altitudes?
• How would the long term affects of smoking affect a persons ability to enjoy their life over time?
• How did your physical abilities limit your participation in activities in the snow (balance, stamina, coordination, physical fitness, mental attitude, etc.) ? Did you feel the ‘Natural High’ from a drug free activity day? Explain.

After observing Dr. DeNoble’s presentation please respond to the following prompts:

1. What is the motivation of the tobacco industry to get people to smoke or chew tobacco?

2. When considering the health and financial costs, why do people still use tobacco?

3. Explain the benefits of abstaining from tobacco use.

After reading Dr. King’s speech “What Is Your Life’s Blueprint?”, write an essay that answers one or more of the following questions:

• What is the most important thing that you learned from reading Dr. King’s speech: What is your life’s blueprint?
• What would Dr. King say if he visited your schoolto talk about education and how the choices you make as you go through school make a difference in your life and community?
• Do you have a blueprint, map, or plan for your own life?  How can you make your education (what you learn in school and elsewhere) an important part of your blueprint?

Describe your day working in the polls during the Primary Election on February 5, 2008. 

• Remember to write using complete sentences, proper punctuation,  and grammar.  Don’t forget to spell check your work before submitting.

Out of all the candidates, who do you like for our next President? Explain using examples of the candidates position in this format:

1.  Who the candidate is, a brief biographical sketch.
2.  How they will stimulate the economy.
3.  How they will help education in the United States.
4.  What they will do regarding our involvement in Iraq.
5.  Conclude using the examples you provided in the previous four paragraphs.
