My Presidential candidate is Barack Obama. Barack was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 to father, Barack Obama Sr. who was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, Africa, and mother, Ann Dunham who was born and raised in Kansas. His father moved back to Kenya shortly after Barack was born and he grew up with his mother in Hawaii and shortly in Indonesia. Barack moved to New York in his later years and received a degree from the University of Columbia. In 1985 Barack moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

Obama believes there are a few easy to fix things with our economy that help stimulate the economy enough to make America strive like it has in the past. Obama believes one of the major reasons our economy is so bad is the stagnant wages and inflating prices around America. Obama’s goal is to create more jobs while stimulating the economy in order to make business’ more money. Making them able to pay employee’s better. The second issue is tax cuts, in President Bush’s terms he cut taxes for the wealthy over 160 times but not for the working or lower class. Obama’s plan is to cut taxes for the middle and working class by nearly 1,000 dollars a year. The third issue is the crackdown on the house market. Obama plans on making a universal morgage credit to credit house owners who do not itemize the tax relief an extra $500 toward there morgage a month.

Obama will help America in improving education by a few moves that will benefit the kids more then NCLB. Although NCLB didn’t work due to not enough funding, Obama will reform NCLB with a zero to five plan that helps kids 0-5 get prepared to learn in a school environment. He will make lost cost high quality after school child care possible for middle and working class families, where the children will have to complete their homework after school. He plans to address the soaring dropout rate by opening a bunch of new student-parent student-teacher programs that are made to help the student feel like there are people there to help them.

Obama plans to pull troops out immediately. Barack feels very strongly on the issue of Iraq. In 2002 he put his career on the line and was one of the only members of the senate to vote against the war in Iraq. He has stood very strong behind his opinion of the war and claims if elected will pull out troops immediately and use them for better needed services in the U.S.A., like protecting our chemical plants which are major terrorist threats and mostly all located near heavily populated cities. He will also use the military to figure out evacuation plans in case of emergency and work on a plan to help Iraqi refugees get placed back safely at home.

    Barack Obama

Born in Hawaii in 1961, he attended the University of Hawaii. He worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead.

In the year 2008, while wages remain flat, the costs of basic things are increasing. The health care costs have risen four times faster than wages over the past six years. The personal savings rate is now the lowest it’s been since the Great Depression. The Bush tax cuts gives those who earn over one million dollars a tax cut nearly 160 times greater then that received by middle-income Americans.

According to Barack Obama’s website, the cost of in-state college tuition has grown 35 percent over the past 5 years. The goal of the law was the right one, but unfulfilled funding promises, inadequate implementation by the education department and shortcomings in the design of the law itself have limited its effectiveness and undercut its support. Six million middle and high school students read significantly below their grade level and a third of high school graduates don’t go directly into college after graduation.

President Bush’s goal of the surge was to create space for Iraq’s political leaders to reach an agreement to end Iraq’s civil war, at great cost, our troops have helped reduce violence in some areas of Iraq, but even those reductions do not get us below the unsustainable levels of violence of mid-2006, moreover Iraq’s political leaders have made no progress in resolving the political differences at the heart of their civil war.

Barack Obama plans to restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama’s comprehensive “Zero to Five” plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. Unlike other early childhood education plans, Obama’s plan places key emphasis at early care and education for infants, which is essential for children to be ready to enter kindergarten. Obama will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state “zero to five” efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school.

And as for Iraq, as a candidate for the United States Senate in 2002, Obama took a risk by opposing going to war in Iraq, and warned of, “an occupation of undetermined length, wit undetermined costs, and undetermined consequences.” As president, if Obamas plans go accordingly, he will make for a respectable president and pending on how his plans unfold, he will be the president America has been waiting for.

Overall, Barack Obama is a good candidate. I will vote for Barack Obama because I have seen his plans and thoughts about being president of this country. I trust Obama to be the President of the United States.

    Presidential Elections

Out of all the candidates, I would like our next President to be Barack Obama. I would like Obama to be the next President because he has solutions to the problems we Americans have. Barack Obama is more of a person us Americans can relate to than the other candidates because he wasn’t born in a rich family like Hilary or McCain; which makes him understand the poverty of the nation better than the other candidates. Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 from there he went too school and graduated from Columbia University in 1983.

I want Barack Obama to be president because; Barack Obama will and would simulate the economy by restoring fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama will create a new “Making Work Pay” tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The “Making Work Pay” tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.

Barack Obama will also reinforce “The No Children Left Behind Act” , because “unfulfilled funding promises by the Education Department has had shortcomings in the design of the law itself;” and has limited its effectiveness and undercut its support. As a result, the law has failed to provide high-quality teachers in every classroom and failed to support and pay those teachers with Obama in office the teachers would be teaching the students which will make them have less high school dropouts in the United States.

The military is being severely strained by repeated and lengthy deployments. The Army and Marine Corps are facing a crisis as 40 percent of their equipment is either in Iraq or being repaired. This crisis has led many of our generals to conclude that current demands make our forces unable to rapidly respond to the contingencies we may face in the future. As a candidate for the United States Senate in 2002, Obama will put his political career on the line to oppose going to war in Iraq, and warned of “an occupation of undetermined length, with undetermined costs, and undetermined consequences.” Obama has been a consistent, principled and vocal opponent of the war in Iraq.

To conclude this I say that Barack Obama is the best candidate to become President of the United States. For he will simulate the economy by restoring fairness to the tax code. Along with the economy he would reinforce the bill of “The no Children Left Behind Act.” Lastly Obama will politically put his career on the line to oppose going to Iraq. With all this I think Obama would make the best candidate, because he has not lied like Hiliary has lied about her being attacked by snipers just to get attention and votes; nor has he have been accused of laying around with other lobbist or females like Mr. McCain. So with this Barack Obama will make the best President.

    My Recommendation for President

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. He was raised by his mother, Ann Dunham while his father, Barack Obama Sr., returned to Kenya. His mother and Barack lived in Indonesia for a few years then they moved to New York where Obama graduated from Columbia University. He also graduated from Harvard to study law so he can be Illinois’s State Senate, which he was for eight years. He is helping the citizens below the poverty line and unemployed. He is also aware of the economy and he cares about people. His wife’s named Michelle and his two daughters named Malice, 9, and Sasha, 6.

Barack Obama has a huge plan for our economy because he knows that the United States has a problem with that issue. He plans to cut the income taxes by $1,000 for working families who are having problems right now. Obama also has an issue on labor that should be change and believes the minimum wage should be raised to help fix inflation. He wants to increase the income tax credit to help families pay off their basic living needs. He also plans to help homeowners not lose their homes.

For the issue on education, Obama will have a “Zero to five” plan that will provide critical support to children and parents. The plan is to help young infants with early care and education that will be essential for children to be ready to begin kindergarten. Obama will also provide affordable and high-quality health care to help families in need. For kids in school already that need help, Obama will fund more after school programs and also expand summer learning opportunities to not leave behind students. Obama also is helping students have a higher education in life by simplifying the application process for Financial Aid.

First of all, Obama is not a fan of the war in Iraq. He is against it and tried to stop it several times before. But he won’t stop now because he has a chance to do so. Obama, if chosen to be president, will begin sending troops back home from Iraq, but he will keep some troops just to protect the embassy. He is also willing to launch an aggressive diplomatic effort to keep Iraq and the Middle East stable by keeping a border around neighboring countries. Obama also believes that he will confront Iraq’s humanitarian crisis by providing $2 billion to expand services in Iraq.

All in all, our Democratic candidate, Barack Obama has an opportunity to back up his plans to make America the way it is suppose to be. As I have said about all the most important issues, Obama has a great understanding of how the United States needs to be. His plans to fix the economy is great, making education better, and keeping America out of war will help us tremendously.

    Presidential Election
    Gary J

The person I pick is Barack Obama. He was born in Hawaii in August 4th 1961. His Dad was born and raised in Africa and his mom was raised in Kansas. When he got older he got a degree from the University of Columbia in New York. He later moved to Chicago where he began networking in the presidential race.

Now Obama says he has some ways of changing the nation, and fixing the economy to get it back to how it used to be. Some of his methods are changing wages and inflating prices. He also wants to lower the unemployment rate and make tax cuts, by cutting down on the middle class. He also wants to house loan rates for credit houses.

He wants to help the education system by helping the kids of NCLB. He also made a 0 to 5 plan for kids to be prepared in a school environment. Also, another plan to make every kid have to do there homework after school mandatory. His last goal for students is to lower the dropout rate by having parent teacher meetings that should motivate the student.

Obama feels very strongly about Iraq and thinks that the troops should be pulled out immediately. He is one of are only senators that actually voted against the war, and that could of lost his rank in the presidency. He wants to protect the chemical plants from terrorist threats in cities all over. He also came up with an evacuation plan that can help Iraq refugees and troops in Iraq.

In conclusion Barack Obama is my pick because he wants to help educate schools with after school programs. He also is going to cut the tax budget with the middle class working person and mix the house loan rates. Then finally take are troops out of Iraq and fix the economy, from being bankrupt and out of debt. He also wants to raise the price of the American dollar. So in summary he is all around solid, and is going to make the nation a better place.

Finally I’m old enough to vote. Sounds great doesn’t it? Well not really. To me there was so much confusion about the last election, and well some people can tell you that voting for George W, Bush again was the worst thing that ever happened for the US of A. there were so many little things and some big ones that made Citizens of the US pissed at George. Have you ever ask someone “Why do you think we are fighting a WAR in Iraq?” I’m sure you have. Well have you noticed that almost everyone will give you a different answer? Amazing isn’t it? This is all because of George, and we might never know the true reason. This up coming election is going to go down in history, there is a woman running for president and there is an African American male running for president, if there is a woman elected for president then this will be the first for the united stated and same for having an African American as president. There is nothing wrong with that at all. It’s just that most, and a lot of people that vote will look at the fact that she is a woman and want to vote for her, just because she would be the first woman president, but there is more to that, same with voting for the first African American president. Don’t just vote for them because there never been a woman president or an African American president, look beyond that and vote for one because they will help our nation.

This year I’ am going to vote and I hope that my vote will make a difference to how we live our lives in the US. My vote will have to go to Barack Obama. Obama, what most people know him by was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father was born in Kenya and his mother was born in the United States in the state of Kansas. Once Barack was born his father left back to Kenya, and lived with his mother in Hawaii then shortly moved to Indonesia. Barack moved to New York in his later years and received a degree from the University of Columbia. Barack moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

Obama has said that he would help our striving economy by having more job opportunities to help everyone on both sides, business owners and workers. Businesses will make more money, and also be able to pay workers better. Another is a tax cut; this is were I think Bush messed up, he cut taxes to wealthy people and forgot about the poor. Obama’s plan is to cut taxes for the middle and working class by nearly 1,000 dollars a year witch would be great.

Education is somewhere that I think Obama would do great if he goes through with it. Obama said that he will help children 0-5 prepare for the school environment, also help student that are under achieving. Having a class out of school to finsh home work before they leave is another one of Obamas ideas. Obama said he will also help cut the drop out rate by having new student, student and teacher, and student and parent programs, also to let kids know that some is there for them all the way.

I my self is not a big fan of war especially with family and friends in the military. The fact, as I mentioned earlier about being in a war we have no clue about bugs me a lot. Obama has said that if he is elected president that he will pull troops out of Iraq instantly. That sounds great to me. My ressons for electing Obama for president might be different than others, but voting for Obama not just he will be the first African American but because he seams like a man of his word.

  • 8    Lakiah C. // May 19, 2008 at 2:27 pm

The candidate I’m choosing is Barack Obama. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. He was raised in a small village in Kenya. He has a wife and two daughters. Barack became a community organizer in Chicago, helping out the crime filled and impoverished neighborhoods. He went back to college to obtain his law degree and was the first African American to become the president of Harvard Law Review. His experience helped him run for Illinois state senate and served 8 years doing that.

Obama wants to create a tax cut for working families. He wants to tax credit up to $500 per person or $1000 per working family. He also believes that foreign trade will strengthen America’s economy. Obama wants to enforce trade agreements by stooping countries from dishonest trades. He wants to speak with Canada and Mexico about NAFTA to make things better for American workers by giving them money to do things. Obama is trying to help people become unionized without any harassment from other people and he wants people to be able to strike and not get permanently replaced.

Obama’s plan on education is to make an Early Learning Challenge Grant to help kids before they start kindergarten that means starting as an infant. He wants an affordable child care to help people who are working and can’t afford daycares. He is reforming the No Child Left Behind law and wants to help the schools that need help and not punish them. He wants to create teacher scholarships to award the teachers who actually help, also making the teachers salary increase is what he has in mind to. Obama wants to establish the drop-out crisis to help teens so they won’t drop-out.

Obama’s plan is to remove all the troops from Iraq. In 2002 Obama did approve of the war. In 2003-2004 he spoke against the war he’s also stated that the war would be a costly factor that the society doesn’t need. In September of 2007 he started making a plan to withdraw troops when he became the president. He said as soon as he became the president he would remove the troops at least from one-two brigades a month. He will only keep troops to protect the embassies and diplomats. He thinks America is responsible for how the Iraqis live, 2 million Iraqis are refugees, and 2 million are displaced in their own nation.

The candidate I would choose is Barack Obama he actually wants to change the world. He’s experienced the hardships of life. He wants improvement from the world. He was the first African American to become the president of Harvard law. He wants to make things available for everybody not just the people who can pay for it. He wants to tax credit people who are working citizens. Obama wants to help people find jobs and by making an affordable child care to help people who most likely aren’t available to pay for a day-to-day day care provider. Obama also wants to help bring the United States troops back from the war and destruction. He is also thinking about when he becomes the president that he would help give Iraq $2 billion to help make sure that they are living somewhere safe and so that they could expand their lives.

Out of all the candidates I would like Barack Obama to be our next president. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961 and now lives in Chicago, Illinois; He is married to his wife Michelle in 1992 and has two daughters Malia and Sasha. Obama also has written two books (Dreams from my father and Audacity of hope). Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School and work as a community organizer.

Barack Obama plans to give $75 billion dollars of stimulus into the economy by getting money in the form of tax cuts and direct spending directly to the people who need it the most. The plan also reserves an additional$45 billion dollars of stimulus that can be delivered into the economy quickly in the future if the economy continues to fall apart.

Obama also plans to help education by spending $18 billion dollars for early childhood education, drop out preventions, and teacher incentives. Also his plan of 0-5 will provide critical support to the children and their parents. Obama’s plan places key emphasis at early care and education for infants, so kids are ready to enter kindergarten.

Barack Obama puts his political career on the line to opposing going to war in Iraq. Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. Removing troops from one to two combat brigades each month and have all our brigades back from Iraq in six months.

This is why I think that Barack Obama would make a good candidate. He is for the people in the United States, Obama wants to help the younger generation with providing better school benefits, He wants to help our economy by giving back money people lost, and he wants to bring our troops back from Iraq.
